The Asan Medical Center’s Health Innovation Big Data Center said it will end the medical artificial intelligence development contest in which students, researchers, and start-ups participated for about five months, and will collaborate with excellent teams to commercialize them.

The medical artificial intelligence development contest is a competition to develop an artificial intelligence system that efficiently diagnoses diseases with medical images such as computerized tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and pathology. A total of 40 teams including dreaming students, researchers, and start-ups participated.

The All-Grand Prize is the ‘Allthebest’ team, consisting of researchers from Yonsei University’s Graduate School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and developed an artificial intelligence image segmentation algorithm that divides glioblastoma, a type of brain tumor, into 76% accuracy in brain MRI.

In addition to the brain tumor MRI image segmentation, the contest was held for about 5 months.
